Welcome to The Ever Collection by K Michael

Eyesight & Eyeglasses: Eyewear products date back to about 2000 years ago when the Inuit Eskimos first made snow goggles from wood, animal bones and leather to protect their eyes from the blinding glare resulting from the snow.  Today we now have more sophisticated sunglasses which are now a staple as far as both fashion and style and functionality are all concerned.

As you would expect, the journey of two thousand years has been incredible but not devoid of several myths, legends, and some facts as well. In this post, we’ll either bust some of these myths or corroborate some of the truths that have been passed down over the years.

Here, let’s go!

June 27, National Sunglasses Day – TRUE!

Every June 27 is National Sunglasses Day!

This celebration was established by The Vision Council with the purpose of celebrating how important sunglasses are in protecting the eyes from the harmful impacts of UV rays.

Thursday, June 27, 2019, is the year’s date. Mark it in your calendar!

Every 14 minutes, a pair of sunglasses gets broken in the US –TRUE!

According to South Florida Reporter, an American breaks or sits on a pair of sunglasses every 14 minutes. More reason why we always recommend you keep those pairs inside their cases and not on hanging on your head.

Crossing the eyes may make them crossed permanently – FALSE

Muscles in the eyes allow them to move in different directions.

Turning or crossing the eyes left, right, up, down, or any position for that matter won’t make your eyes crossed permanently. This can only be caused by nerve and muscle damages, eye diseases, or uncorrected refractive errors forcing the eyes into a particular position.

Eyeglasses will weaken the eyes – FALSE!

Eyeglasses cannot weaken or damage the eyes.

Not even when they are too strong or even when you’re wearing the wrong prescription. While some are worn to correct eye defects, sunglasses can also protect the eyes from harmful UV rays and can help fashionistas make a big fashion statement!

Sunglasses promote eye health – TRUE!

Aside from the style benefits of sunglasses, they are also great for eye health.

While some eyeglasses can be recommended for vision correction, some sunglasses like some of those offered inThe Ever Collection can also protect the eyes from harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun.

A pair of sunglasses once sold for $250k? – TRUE!

A pair of sunglasses once sold for a whopping $250k simply because they belonged to Elvis Presley!

While that piece of history may be above your budget, we still have lots of stylish sunglasses here on our online sunglasses store that will bring out the fashionista in you.

Right up there are some of the myths and facts we’ve had to live with through the evolution of sunglasses through the ages.

Sunglasses have always been a part of us and we’ll always love them. Like Karl Lagerfeld said;

Sunglasses are like eye shadow, they make everything look prettier and younger.
